Boulder Utah Destination Wedding

June 20, 2019

This wedding was a dream to be a part of! I’ve lived in Utah for 15 years and had never been to Boulder. It’s just right outside of Escalante, which is a more popular destination in Utah. These two picked Boulder because it’s where they met! The bride and her family had worked hard to help preserve the Escalante river. Kati would come multiple summers to help her mom with the preservation.

We started the day off with a hike along the Escalante river. I chatted with the bride’s mom quite a bit on the hike. She talked to me about the history of keeping the river flowing and healthy! Everyone they loved and cared about was on this hike! I remember Kati tearing up at the beginning saying, “I’ve been waiting for over a year for this exact moment. To have everyone I love do this hike with Matt and I.” It was such a precious experience, and the landscape was gorgeous.

Kati & Matt’s wedding day was full of so many intimate details like the pig cufflinks, Kati’s handmade customized dress, the location, and the paper crane’s in the arch. It was emotional to see all these people who loved Kati & Matt travel from around the United States to this remote location in Utah to celebrate their love. You could literally feel the love everyone had for them, Kati & Matt are such a light in the world. I’m still so overwhelmed with gratitude that I was able to capture their amazing day.
